Turn Eco-Anxiety Into Eco-Action
Play for Planet Earth is a gamified platform where everyday climate actions become quests, points, and community progress. Small steps. Real impact. No guilt required.
The Mission
Climate change is overwhelming. The news is relentless. And for millions of young people, eco-anxiety is a daily reality. We built Play for Planet Earth because worry without action leads nowhere โ but action, even small action, changes everything.
The science is clear: collective small actions create massive impact. What's been missing is a way to make those actions visible, social, and rewarding. That's what we're building.
What We're Building
- Quests that fit real life โ not perfection, just progress
- Rewards and recognition that keep you coming back
- Community challenges for schools, neighbourhoods, and workplaces
- Simple impact reporting โ see your COโ, waste, and energy numbers
- A partner ecosystem connecting schools, councils, NGOs, and eco-brands
How It Works
Five steps from intention to impact
Choose a Quest
Browse daily micro-actions or bigger challenges. Pick what fits your life today โ walking to school, skipping single-use plastic, or joining a community cleanup.
Do It in Real Life
Quests happen in the real world. Some are digital (like a climate literacy lesson), but most get you moving, making, or changing a habit.
Log It
Simple proof options depending on quest type: snap a photo, check in at a location, get partner verification, or self-report. We keep it honest without making it hard.
Earn Points and Badges
Track your progress, build streaks, unlock badges, and climb leaderboards. Friendly competition keeps the momentum going.
See Your Impact
Watch your cumulative COโ savings, waste reduction, and community contributions grow. Your actions become part of a bigger story.
Why It Works
The psychology behind lasting change
Small Steps Beat Big Promises
Research shows that tiny, consistent actions build habits faster than ambitious one-off pledges. PfPE designs quests to be achievable, not aspirational.
Identity and Streaks Beat Willpower
When you see yourself as 'someone who takes climate action,' it sticks. Streaks and badges reinforce that identity every day.
Community Makes It Stick
Doing it alone is hard. Doing it with your class, your neighbourhood, or your team? That's momentum. Social accountability is the strongest motivator.
Visible Progress Reduces Anxiety
Eco-anxiety thrives on helplessness. When you can see your COโ saved and quests completed, worry transforms into agency.
What You Can Do Inside PfPE
Real quests. No perfection required.
Walk or Cycle
Choose legs or wheels over engines โ even once this week counts.
Refill, Don't Rebuy
Bring your bottle, your bag, your cup. Skip the single-use.
Try a Meat-Free Meal
One meal, one day. Small dietary shifts create big climate wins.
10-Minute Litter Pickup
Walk your area, collect what you find, log the weight.
Repair or Donate
Fix what's broken. Give away what you don't need. Less landfill, more life.
Home Energy Challenge
Switch off standby, draught-proof a door, check your thermostat.
Climate Literacy Lesson
A quick micro-lesson on emissions, biodiversity, or sustainable food.
Invite a Friend
Bring someone into the community. Collective action starts with a conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The core platform is free and always will be. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but access to quests, tracking, and community features will remain free.
No. Anyone can use PfPE. But we've designed the experience with young people (12โ30) in mind โ it's mobile-first, social, and built around the kind of engagement that resonates with Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
Every quest has an estimated environmental impact based on published research from DEFRA, IPCC, and academic sources. We use conservative estimates and publish our methodology. It's not perfect, but it's honest.
Absolutely not. PfPE is about progress, not perfection. Skip a day? No problem. Miss a quest? Start a new one. The point is to keep showing up, even imperfectly.
Yes. Partners can create custom quests tailored to their community, geography, and sustainability goals. Visit our Partners page to learn more.
You earn points for completing quests. Points unlock badges and move you up leaderboards. In the future, we're exploring partner-sponsored rewards and a green marketplace.
We're in pilot stage. The web app is available for early users, and we're actively building new features. Crowdfunding helps us accelerate development and expand to more communities.
Share our campaign with your network, follow us on LinkedIn, tell your school or council about us, or reach out about partnership opportunities. Every bit of visibility helps.
